What is a Notary?
A Notary is an individual who is licensed to witness the signing of important documents and administer oaths. They are responsible for verifying the identities of parties signing documents, ensuring that all parties to a transaction have entered into it willingly and without coercion. They are attesting to the facts stated in the documents. The signature and stamp of the Notary Public are usually required for certain transactions such as wills, deeds, loan documents and certain contracts.
