What Is A Choir?
Choir: Is a group of people who sing songs together. They often rehearse with leaders, give concerts or sing during Church or other types of services. Some choirs have professional singers that are paid to sing in the choir. Some choirs are semi-professional with a Director who is paid to work with the Choir. The Singers are volunteers and are not paid to sing. Some choirs are amateur or recreational. Some amateur choirs invite anyone interested to sing with them. Professional, semi-professional, and some amateur or recreational choirs require interested individuals to audition and then select members based on a set of audition criteria. The singers in a choir are grouped according to their voice types: choral music is often written with different lines or parts for some or all of these voice types. Speech types are generally divided into four voice groups. They are Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass. Love My Choir!
